Sometimes as creators, we want to make it “affor Sometimes as creators, we want to make it “affordable” for everyone. It’s important we price our goods for longevity, profit, market, and growth. If our costs go up…. We have to adjust our costs. I get it… believe me. It’s a struggle for me as well. My customers are really kind and supportive of my brand. That means so very much to me. If you receive emails or DM’s asking for a discount, quoting the cost of products from other brands, or rudely telling you that you are way too expensive…. That is not your customer! That is not your target audience…. That is not your person and that is ok. Just don’t create an unrealistic expectation for someone that is not your person. Also, please don’t misconstrue my statement. I do discounts. I have sales. I adjust my formulations and designs from time to time as not to lose my quality or brand, but to keep the target cost within my market. I don’t do them just because. Be strategic and be fair for everyone involved. I’ve been doing this for a while now and I’ve learned a lot. I have survived the ups and downs because I made adjustments with purpose.
